3. General information on data processing

We process Data as part of the operation of our website. Processing of Data also includes disclosure through transmission.
This also includes disclosure by transfer to third parties and, if applicable, to so-called third countries outside the European Union ("EU") and the European Economic Area ("EEA"). Insofar as we transfer data outside the EU or the EEA, we have marked this accordingly below.


4. Data processing The specific Data concerned, reasons for processing, legal bases, recipients and transfers to third countries are listed below:
a. Log file
We log your visit to our website. The following Data is processed:
- name of the retrieved web page,
- date and time of the retrieval,
- the amount of Data transferred,
- the browser type and version,
- the operating system you are using,
- the referrer URL (the previously visited web page),
- your IP address and
- the requesting provider.

If you contact us, your Data (name, contact details, if provided by you) and your message will be processed solely for the purpose of processing and fulfilling your request.
We collect this Data on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 b) GDPR or Art. 6 para. 1 f) GDPR to process your request.

d. Newsletter as part of your subscription If you have taken out a subscription with us, this may include receiving further information by e-mail. The scope and nature of the information is determined by the offer of the respective subscription. We process your e-mail address to provide you with this information.
The legal basis for data processing is our obligation to fulfil the contract in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1 b) GDPR.

g. Integration of external content
We use external dynamic content to optimize the presentation and the offer of our website. When visiting the website, a request is automatically made via the API to the server of the respective content provider, in which certain log Data (e.g. the IP address of the users) is transmitted. Scimago quality indicator
We have included the Scimagor quality indicator on our website. This is a measure of the scientific influence of journals, citations and articles. The indicator provides you with data for the influence of a content on the scientific discussion. When the quality indicator is retrieved, log data is transferred to the servers of SCImago, a reasearch group of the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), University of Granada, Extremadura, Carlos III (Madrid).
The legal basis for the data processing is our overriding legitimate interest in the qualitative data presentation of our online offer and the scientific publications contained therein according to Art. 6 para. 1 f) GDPR.

5. Duration of the data storage
We only store personal Data for as long as it is necessary for the purposes for which it is processed, or you have revoked your consent. As far as statutory storage requirements are concerned, the storage period for certain Data can be up to 10 years regardless of the processing purposes.

b. Correction, deletion, restriction of processing (blocking), objection
